HESSE FLATOW EAST 7-8PM

Please join us for the final day of Splash and a special screening of Panoramic View - Portrait of the Artist Francine Tint this Saturday, August 8!

A sharp-witted and uncompromising New York painter who’s been creating brilliant work since the 1970s finally earns the recognition she was long denied by the male-dominated world of Abstract Expressionism.

Francine Tint is a New York-based painter whose career spans over five decades. Known for her powerful commitment to postwar American abstraction, Tint creates works that combine bold, intuitive gesture with a distinctive and often unexpected sense of color. Ranging in scale from intimate compositions to monumental canvases nearly 20 feet in width, her paintings channel an immediate and emotionally resonant energy through sweeping, layered brushwork, at times lyrical and fluid, at others raw and rapid. She has developed a visual language that brings together the expansive chromatics of Color Field painting with the gestural force of Abstract Expressionism.
