Join artist Adama Delphine Fawundu as she activates and reflects on her year-long exhibition, Adama Delphine Fawundu: In the Spirit of Àṣẹ, with a performance and conversation.
The artist, in collaboration with composer and violinist Che Buford and marimbist Steph Davis, will create a space for imagination and manifestation through improvised sounds, movement, and energies. When the Spirits Sing… an Offering invites audiences to bring positive thoughts for each other and our collective futures.
Following the performance, the Museum’s Associate Curator, Arts of Global Africa, Henone Girma will lead a conversation with Fawundu, photographer and adjunct professor at Columbia University, C. Daniel Dawson, and art historian Dr. Henry J. Drewal, Emeritus Professor in African Art at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
