Hesse Flatow announces Proposition, an exhibition of seventeen artists' videos showcased in a screening room, along with a selection of associated props, costumes, sculptures and other related materials from these videos in the adjoining gallery space.

Though video is immaterial, this show's focus is on the physical, tangible and tactile efforts that go into the elaborate and sometimes extreme productions that often spin off unique physical objects. Some works are simple found objects that have been given authority by their depiction in the accompanied video. A few sculptures incorporate embedded screens as a material. Others are engineered objects designed out of necessity to accomplish a special effect and, in some cases, new works of art have been inspired.
