Adrienne Elise Tarver
Biographie
Adrienne Elise Tarver (b. 1985, New Jersey) works in a variety of different mediums to question the authenticity of the current environment which has dramatically changed over time to satisfy contemporary needs. Looking at the present through the lens of the past, Tarver recognizes how the complexities of world history have compounded into modern-day reality and affect how we address our future. Weaving together personal references, Afrofuturist imagery, and lush vegetation, Tarver denotes power and agency to a cast of Black subjects whose prompts may alter the course of tomorrow.
