INFO

HESSE FLATOW is an artist-run gallery  founded by Karen Hesse Flatow in 2019.   It had its start as a curatorial platform called "Crush Curatorial", where many artists we work with today had their debut solo show.   The program focuses on emerging and mid career artists with diverse voices, presenting debut solo shows and focused presentations.  Our second location was in the West Chelsea Arts adjacent to the High Line in New York City.  In the summer of 2024, the gallery will be moving to a ground floor space in Tribeca, New York City.

HF seeks to engage viewers and makers with public programming and special events such as artist conversations, performances and food-related events, hoping to bring the program to a wider audience. HF also maintains an exhibition space and residency program in  Amagansett, Long Island.

Since 2019, HF has  presented over 100 shows and has received reviews in Art in America, Art News, The New York Times, Art Forum, The New Yorker, and Hyperallergic among others.

Karen Hesse Flatow received an MBA and MFA from Columbia University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
