HESSE FLATOW now representing Elizabeth Hazan

New York gallery HESSE FLATOW now represents artist Elizabeth Hazan, born in 1965 in New York, where she lives and works. Her second solo exhibition with the gallery, titled “Double Fantasy”, will run from 13 February to 14 March 2026.

 

Through painting, Elizabeth Hazan develops a practice focused on landscape, conceived as an unstable space in which natural forms, memory and perception are reconfigured. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Madoo Conservancy, Duck Creek Arts Center but also at Janet Kurnatowski Gallery. A former resident of Yaddo and recipient of a fellowship from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, she holds degrees from Bryn MawrCollege and the New York Studio School. Elizabeth Hazan directs the independent programmePlatform Project Space in Brooklyn.

 

Founded in 2019 by artist and curator Karen Hesse Flatow, HESSE FLATOW follows on from the curatorial platform Crush Curatorial, active in New York during the 2010s. Based in Tribeca, the gallery represents artists such as Sarah Blaustein, Michael Childress, Adama Delphine Fawundu, Kirsten Deirup and Nat Meade, among others. It also operates an exhibition and residency space in Amagansett, New York State.
