Highley Varlet Studios is pleased to present the virtual premiere of Johanna Robinson's 'Wish Fulfillment' at HV Laboratory! With her latest series, Robinson renders various interpretations of the archetypical wishing well, the aesthetics matching the fanciful dreams of health and fortune donating coins to the well provides. In combining the physical medium of oil painting with the tokenization of NFTs, Robinson invites the visitor to "reach into" her paintings, taking a coin for themselves on the blockchain that has the potential - if one wishes for it - to secure wealth of their own. Robinson is the third artist-in-residence at HV Laboratory, a space dedicated to giving traditional fine artists with web3 curiosities free reign to explore the metaverse on their own terms. The voxelized wishing well that dominates the exhibition's center is Robinson's first foray into the medium.
