Bill Komoski
Weaving in and out of legibility, Bill Komoski’s paintings combine elements derived from both spontaneous action as well as specific references. A horseshoe crab emerges from the possibility of a flower reflected on a brick wall…shimmering. The paintings are often misread as being generated through mechanical processes—but they are both a result of controlled accident and hand-painting. The representation of the drip and its radiating concentric rings reference a moment in time, frozen.
