HESSE FLATOW is pleased to participate in 2022 Dallas Art Fair, with a presentation of works by Amanda Baldwin, Aglaé Bassens, Kirsten Deirup, Quentin James McCaffrey, and Lumin Wakoa. Working in dialogue with conventions of still life and landscape painting, some dating as far back as the Renaissance, these artists present contemporary scenes of nature and domestic interiors that are tinged with feelings of longing and nostalgia. While Baldwin and Deirup catapult their viewers to imagined locales through lush stylizations and surrealistic juxtapositions, Bassens, McCaffrey and Wakoa arrest their audience in moments of stillness and introspection, often signaling places, timelines, and memories outside of the work's frame.
